Hello everybodypeeps.
Welcome to Day 3 of National Poetry Writing Month over at the realm of TooFullToWrite.
Here is today’s link for National Poetry Writing Month:-
NaPoWriMo Day 3 – Third Times A Charm
This time for your viewing pleasure, I’ve gone with my own theme but I’ve kind of followed the three times a charm rule set out in the prompt, which also happens to be my lucky number – woohoo!
Come on Mr Pharrell Williams, we’re getting lucky tonight! (What do you mean all the ladies have gone to bed? You call this a party? Take that silly hat off your head and go find us some hotties. Some people, eh? I can’t take him anywhere.)
Please leave a comment if you enjoy it and don’t forget to drop me a note if you want to collaborate.
Thank you for reading and look forward to delivering more poetry goodness throughout this month!
“Searching For Release” by David Ellis
Tempus fugit
Time flies
Scattered raindrops
Flowing through my mind
This wall of fog
I climb and I climb
Keep fighting and falling
An endless pantomime
I’m tempted
To be a fugitive
I’m wandering days
Not knowing what I will find
Now I know for certain
That’s it’s curtains
I’ve seen the signs
Tempus fugit
Time flies
It is but a metaphor for the mind
Whispering endlessly
Searching for release
A place to deal with all the truth and lies
Tempus fugit
Time flies
Can’t stop the flow
All I can do is just follow
I’m a slave to the beat
I do my best to cope but
At times it hurts just to exist

Your poem is awesome.I enjoyed reading,’tempus fugit, time flies’
Thank you so much – glad you enjoyed it – hope I can make it through to the end of the month!
3 is also my luckkkyyy number and this poem is soo groovy.. i love love love it ❤ ❤ ❤
There is something very friendly about the number 3 – it is very comforting
yes and it also has my birthday 😛
That is the best connection of all 🙂
absolutely.. i have mad love for birthdays 😛
My favourite so far, apart from Future Dilemmas of course 😀
We shall see – still many more to go 😉
Both hopeful and hopeless… you are dichotomy man
I like to run the gamut of emotions and take people on a journey before leaving them high and dry and questioning their own mortality. I don’t know what that was but it sounded great.
It sounded like a sociopath with a sense of humor and power tools
I’d say that is probably a fairly accurate description, since on occasion I’ve been known to have been called a complete tool.
I never said that…
I might have imagined it
you might have
I’ve been reading along with your challenge – enjoying it all it can be said – but this one, so far, is really awesome. I enjoy the rhythm immensely – has an upbeat quality – even if the words are perhaps, slightly less so. Just awesome.
Hey Patricia, thank you for commenting, I’ve been meaning to make the lyrics to this one in a song, there is a distinct rhythm to it. I will have to look at that in the future and see where it goes. Once again, thank you for reading, I’m grateful for your interest and support!
